This girlish trend has been around for a while now and is a sure fire way to make socks with sandals acceptable. That is no bad thing in this increasingly changeable weather.

I styled this up in a Wizard of Oz kind of way, shot by my good friend Toby Farrow of Farrows Creative
And here's how you do it...
You will need:
- Pair of socks
- Lace (ideally elasticated)
- Pins
- Sewing machine
- Matching thread
How to make:
- turn the sock inside out, stretch it around the free arm of the sewing machine, positioning it so you start adding lace from the back of the sock.
- place your lace, allowing the frill to stick out over the edge of the sock, and machine a zig zag stitch along the flat edge of the lace, keeping the sock taught. If your lace is elasticated, pull it tight like the sock.
- when putting on the sock fold down the top by an inch.
